Le champion du monde poids lourds 

Louis Catorze’s cat-cousins Rodan and Mothra have just been to the vet. It wasn’t the most fun visit, especially for my poor Nephew 1 who was pissed on by Rodan. (Mental note: NEVER travel to the vet with the transportation pod on your knees, unless said pod is made of the same sturdy, impermeable material that they use to make the hulls of ocean liners.)

Quote from Nephew 1: “I THOUGHT something was warm.”

Eurgh. 

Look at Rodan’s “Je ne regrette rien” face.

Anyway, Rodan is 4.5kg and Mothra, 3.07kg. Catorze’s other cat-cousins, Otis and Roux, are between 3.5kg and 4kg. And his cat-auntie Zelva is, according to my mum, “just under 4kg”, although her floppy belly gives the illusion of more. (Zelva’s belly, I mean, not my mum’s.)

Chonks (compared to Catorze, anyway).

This makes Catorze, at 3kg exactly, the smallest cat in the family. I imagine every single one of you saw this coming. 

Luckily his small stature doesn’t hold him back; what he lacks in physical oomph, he more than compensates in attitude and general bullshittery. I don’t suppose this comes as much of a surprise, either. 

Don’t trust him.

    One of my black cats (Oscar or Snarky, I forget which) peed on me as I extracted him from the carrier. Since the vet needed a urine sample, the tech wrung out the tail of my tee shirt and got enough to avoid having to do a needle extraction of a sample.

    Poor Nephew number 1. Did Rodan relieve himself before or after seeing the vet? By the way, using an utterly impermeable transportation pod is not a good solution either. In this case, the cat baths into their piss and manipulating such a cat in front of a vet is not really enjoyable.

        A previous cat of ours used to do it. Her transportation pod was made of wicker and we used to put the latter above a litter box. Although they look great, I wouldn’t have liked to be in the shoes of Nephew number 1 😺.

          I found out later that Mothra did the same on the way back from the vet, although by that time everyone had learned their lesson and had put the pods on the floor.

    I once drove from West Lafayette (Indiana) to Toronto (Canada), an 8-hour drive, with my car full of stuff and 2 cats who didn’t want to stay in their carriers, of course. Calinette was anxious and started smacking and biting poor Sosso, so Sosso came on my lap and slept there for the whole trip. Around hour 6, she peed (right after the border, she must have felt my relief when we got through without incident). I couldn’t move, as she was still on my lap, and I couldn’t stop and get out of the car with 2 cats outside their carriers, so I drove on. My move to Canada was definitely memorable 😆

    I Love Godzilla! 😄 My sisters’ cat peed on me as I slept. I awoke with a wet hip and ankles. Not sure if she was pissed off because I took “her” couch or because I had the nerve to drink “her” café au lait…🙄

    He doesn’t seem to need more mass. Maybe other animals don’t take Louis seriously because of his size. While they’re laughing, he wins the fight.
