At the top of the tree, where he belongs.

The winter solstice is here. A brand new journey around the sun starts today.

Over the last twelve months or so, Louis Catorze has sadly lost some of his (younger) amis: his cat-cousin King Ghidorah left us last December, as did Shadow the black Labrador at the end of April, and Merlyn, the daddy of the Northern tuxedo cat gang, in September.

It’s made us realise how lucky we are to still have Catorze around at all, let alone him being in such good form. He is miraculous and creepy in equal measure, an impish mix of Dorian Gray, Peter Pan and all the Twilight vampires, and I will probably spend the rest of my life, long after he is gone, trying to understand why he was put on this earth (apart from to annoy the merde out of us).

Whatever you and your furry overlords are planning over the next few days, and however you choose to celebrate (or not), we hope you have a wonderful time. Thank you for supporting us and Catorze, and may everything good about the season come your way.

            Last winter friend of mine would not had a furnace for 2 years ask me to stay in her house Christmas Day cuz she works seven at night to 3 in the morning. penny is a hawk at Mercy one in Waterloo she works just set up top she’s ahead of housekeeping she knows where all the beds are empty and who to fly in to do airlift. she worried that her cats would freeze to death her dog her bird and her Turtle while she worked so I stayed at the house it was 10 below in Oelwein Iowa last December 25th.

            My phone is stupid it always sends things before I’m ready for it to send things T-Mobile. being a good hearted generous empathic lesbian I stepped up and I said I’ll take all your animals not realizing that she just sort of blocked it out of her mind and like every two weeks she’ll bring me or have me go to Walmart to get food. I had planned to drive for spark but I can’t get on the app and now I’m sitting in the parking lot of the library in Independence Iowa with a dead battery. So I didn’t realize that she had a cat that wasn’t fixed Lewis. I had five girls she had three we had taken my Chester to the lions in Cedar Rapids Humane Alliance and they fixed cats and dogs and they do ear docking they fixed my cat the Chester and two of pennies cats honey and Jasmine. honey had gotten loose the cage had broken in my hands and off she went it took him two weeks for them to catch her in live trap outside the Humane Alliance. So then we had honey and Jasmine which you were fixed so no problem right. so one would think but Louis is very difficult. Lewis made a mother’s my cats and his mother .

            We had picked up Lily and she had been made pregnant by someone we don’t know the lady who had given her a home had used her as a tool against her son so we went by and picked her up. Lily lost all her kittens, all of us kittens were really small and I farmed them out to other mothers. lady carried her kittens way too long and she had nine and that’s outrageous for a small cat. for them survived. as an empath it breaks my heart every time one dies. And it kills me when someone dies that I’ve gotten attached to. kitties and us are not that different we talk they talk too we’re not furry but they are still as viable and interesting and lovable and sometimes we are. Precious had five they were fine and healthy her sister Snuggles had five they were fine and healthy. Penny the Cat at 5 and they were healthy. awesome we had 35 cats I had 35 cats. but no time did we have enough Cat boxes I didn’t have enough Cat boxes. Enough litter enough food! I have lost more weight this year running around cleaning bending down picking up sharing my food with kitties then I did to go into the United States Army eating prunes. We call and called every place we called to get someone to come or to allow us to bring our cats to the Humane shelters no one would take them.

            Finally the Dubuque Humane Shelter which is has been a no-kill shelter since 2017 said that they would take for kittens $50 for four kittens. then they took 10 for $100. I still have three kittens and I have five adults that need to go and I have all but two three of Pennies cats. all this time Penny’s been living in the motel which is a crappy piece of crap and Oelwein, Iowa. Penny pays $370 a week to live in a crappy piece of crap of a motel. she said she looks for a place to live she says she’s going to take her two oldest cats I have two of her cats that are 15 years old that’s a 113 in cat life. I’m going to tear up all my carpet down my hall and all the way the big room and I’m not letting in my landlord back in my house last well in New in October he came in and worked on my furnace because it wouldn’t start. I asked him what are you going to charge you that he says nothing sometimes you just do good things I got a bill first for $200 and then I got another bill for $300 it’s amazing what good deeds cost these days. it’s not this month the government took $300 to my social security check I received the letter and they said they’re going to take $164 they took 300. I had no money to pay for my heat so 120. I owe the clinic 90. it’ll cost me $270 to take eight cats $3 a piece to the Humane Alliance or humane shelter whatever it is right now I’m sitting in my car which won’t go forward it’s battery’s dead again is a stupid locking magazine keeps blinking at me I figured that that would eventually kill the car that was right it’s cold out here I’m going to continue to sit here until I have to go potty feel dumb having to go in because my car is dead. I hope that answers your question why I have 16.

    It’s always a bit sad to read about the loss of furry friends. But like probably all of your readers, I’m happy that Louis came into my life. Ok, that mind control is a different story…

    Andy the Persian kitty boy, entertains and amazes me, but he is such a good boy, I run out of things to write about him. Louis Catorze, on the other hand, always is entertaining! Give him a kitty treat for me!
