Je crie, donc je suis

I am not impressed with Louis Catorze. Yesterday morning I was an hour and three-quarters late with his breakfast*, and the little shit absolutely destroyed my forearm with his digging and scratching. Yes, this is the same cat who is ambivalent about food. For goodness’ sake.

*In my defence it was my birthday the day before, and I’d had eight shots of vodka after barely drinking all year.

In other news: oh. Mon. Dieu. Remember when Catorze kept me awake by thrashing around in a plastic bag, and I couldn’t understand why I was unable to locate the bag?

Well, it turns out that there was no plastic bag. In actual fact the sound came from an old picture, wrapped in bubble wrap, which was standing in a corner of the room, propped up against a wall and hidden by a folded-up duvet cover. Obviously it wasn’t hidden well enough, because the bastard cat had located it and was trying to break through the bubble wrap.

He has previous when it comes to this kind of behaviour. The last time was much worse, but he hasn’t really done it since on account of us not having bubble wrap lying around. Now we know that we have to keep it away from him, adding another tiresome task to the already-long list of tiresome tasks that we have to do because of him.

As you can see, the little sod is deeply regretful of all the bother he has caused. Doesn’t this picture just scream “deep regret”?

Dreaming of bubble wrap.

He’s waiting for his ice cube bath or is that over now?

I was going to say “It’s over” but I’m wondering if he still needs them. Yesterday was the coldest day in a while, and the silly sod sat on Cat Daddy’s ice pack!

Bubble wrap was a new product when the Grey Menace was old, but he could not abide it in the house, and deliberately popped the bubbles. Maybe it’s a wider spread dislike than we know?

Great photo of Catorze! It’s good that your sacrifice allows your cat to sleep so peacefully.

Yes, as long as he’s happy. Never mind us.

Firstly, allow me to wish you a belated happy birthday. Do you know that many human beings like popping that kind of bubble. It makes a nice noise when it happens..But of course, you must be cautious to protect Louis.

Merci! And he likes popping the bubble wrap himself. I’m trying to protect my own sanity, not him!

Clearly HE isn’t having any trouble sleeping. Although it is a shame that he shredded your arm, since it was your birthday, Were the 8 shots of vodka “one to grow on” as well ?

on a birthday you give somebody a kiss

or a good-natured “spanking” for each year of their age “and one to grow on.’ It used to be the custom for a little kid (too little to punch back) but not with intentional cruelty just one of those annoying things done to embarrass you on your birthday…)

On Catorze’s next birthday, do I give him seventeen spanks (human years) or eighty-four spanks (cat years)?
