Je crie, donc je suis

What app eats up most of your screen time, and do you even feel bad about it?

I actually checked in my settings to be able to answer this question, and was surprised to discover that my most commonly-used app is actually, erm, the Notes app on my iPhone.

I know. Notes is so boring that I wasn’t really sure, at first, whether or not it was even a proper app. Being a frequent user of Notes is like saying you like to indulge in the Clock function for setting alarms, or the Calendar function to log appointments.

Even Catorze finds Notes as dull as dust.

Sorry if you were expecting something a bit more exciting. That said, I can’t be bothered to feel bad about it. Notes is way too inoffensive and banal to elicit bad feelings. It’s not as if it’s TikTok, Roblox (no, it’s not Road Blocks – who knew?) or some such shite.

I use Notes mainly for drafting blog posts, because I find it a lot easier to write there than on WordPress or Jetpack. When I first started blogging, my brother-in-law – a cricket journalist – advised me to always have thirty or so ideas in my back pocket in case of a creativity dearth; however, it seems I needn’t have bothered because there is always something going on with Louis Catorze.

Sometimes there quite literally aren’t enough days in the week to post all the stupid shit that he’s done – unless, of course, I moved to daily or twice-daily blog posts about him. And, trust me, nobody wants that.

So, as long as Catorze pitter-patters this earth, the Notes app will continue to be battered by my fingertips, multiple times a day, recording his misadventures for the world to see. It ain’t glamorous. But then life as a Catorzian housekeeper slave prisoner was never about me.

I have never used that app! I should check it out. I write in Microsoft Word and copy over. Writing in WordPress is weird.

Yes, I agree that writing in WordPress is weird. Somehow everything is harder to see? I don’t know if that makes sense but that’s how I feel: small, unclear letters and too much distracting bumf that stops you from spotting mistakes.

Personally, I do hope Louis pitter-patters this earth for many more years.

I use Notes all the time. Sometimes for quotes, reminders or creative ideas.

It’s very useful, isn’t it? I also use it for Catorze’s medical notes, as there isn’t enough paper in the world to write down all his issues. 😬

I use notes to draft my posts too.

I’m glad Louis keeps you occupied and young 😁

Occupied, yes. Young, not so much. We are ageing at an alarming rate because of all his nonsense!

I guessed he’d make you age faster 😆. We need a little Louis, my cat only sleeps 💤

For many more years may Louis’s pawprints patter across Notes app so to say.

Aww, merci! I don’t think it will be that many 😢 but even a couple would be amazing.
