Louis Catorze’s summer mode has been officially activated.

It’s not summer yet. In fact, it’s not even spring. But the fact that it’s the wrong time has never stopped him from doing what he wants. A few rays of sunshine and he’s out … which makes it all the more insulting that he should run indoors to puke, then run back out again.

Oui, Mesdames et Messieurs: the little sod was OUTSIDE when he deployed the telltale hork-hork klaxon, but ran INSIDE to finish the job. The only possible reason for this is pure spite.

Here he is, on the lookout for mischief. Let’s hope he reins it in a bit because he’s getting too old for nonsense (and so are we).

He still has the energy to jump up here and do whatever it is that he’s doing.

Have you already thought Louis could run indoors to puke so that you get aware of it because he knows how you like taking care of him 😺 ?.

Erm … not sure it was that. 🤣🤣🤣

I wish I had a sane, logical response but…ummm…Louis. Nothing is sane. If it’s any consolation, my cats prefer carpeting to bare floors for a good barf.

Yes, generally they all do. Catorze mistimed his puke and actually went skidding past the carpeted area. I’m sure that was his intention, the little sod.

It is a pretty well understood by-law among cats that anything gross needs to be deposited on carpet, rather than, say, linoleum or – heaven forfend – the lawn. Louis is just following procedure.

      It’s not fair, is it?

Frankie is like that. He pukes pretty often and always makes sure it is on a rug. God forbid he pukes on the tile floor.

Why do they do this? Little sods!

It’s a mystery. Maybe puking on something soft seems more natural.

No. They are doing it to spite us.

I noticed this with my own cats. Always the rug, or worse, the bed. I suspect it’s because they like having something to dig their claws into while puking. (But wouldn’t the lawn be perfect?)

The bed is just awful! Catorze has only done it once but I didn’t notice it and flung the duvet back, scattering puke in all directions.

We used to have an old sheet over the duvet to catch cat hair and the occasional puked up hairball.
            Those were the days…

Catorze doesn’t do it often enough to warrant an old sheet, thank God.

One of my former cats used to come in to do what she had to in the litter, and go out again… (And she puked right inside a slipper, once.)

Both of those things are shocking, but not surprising!

Perhaps he’s found some fountain of youth and will never age. 🙂

Except he doesn’t have to drink blood

He still does it, though. Cat Daddy has seen him lick the blood off a just-killed mouse. 🤢
