Je crie, donc je suis

What is your favourite restaurant?

Louis Catorze hasn’t been eating much lately, so we really want him to start enjoying dining at home.

When his post-steroid munchies failed to kick in, I wondered whether to bring back his wet food, to see if that made a difference. The little sod has always been inconsistent with wet food: at first he can’t get enough of it, but this love affair never lasts; over time he goes from loving it to liking it to just finding it satisfactory, eventually stopping eating it altogether. But, after a short break from it, he’s back to being in love again.

This frustrates Cat Daddy no end, to the point where, after the last break, he was reluctant to resume it again. He thinks Catorze should either just eat food or not, without arsing around. However, Catorze has been looking so bony recently that Cat Daddy felt sorry for him and, unbelievably, it was he who suggested that we reintroduce the wet food. (Cat Daddy, I mean. Not Catorze.)

This made me very happy because I had been thinking about it, too. So much so, in fact, that I had considered ordering anyway and asking The Cool Cat Club to send it in an unmarked box, or at least labelling the box with something boring so that Cat Daddy wouldn’t feel inclined to open it. But we don’t need to bother with any smoke and mirrors nonsense: Le Roi shall have his wet food, and everyone is on board. And the first day was so insane that it needs its own Le Blog post (coming soon).

Here is Catorze, screaming and screaming for his chicken fillet with duck. When he disappears at the end, it’s to try to lead me to his bowl:

“Service is this way, salope.”

If your cat would like to try The Cool Cat Club’s food, and you and your family fancy being screamed at like this every morning, here is Catorze’s referral link

All seems to end well despite the difficulties linked with Cat Daddy’s first decision which I can perfectly understand. Not having to follow the imagined scenario could only make you feel very happy 🙂

By the way, unlike Louis, our former cat used to dislike wet foot duck flavored 😺

I can’t answer you. On the website, we are told:

La variante poulet, bœuf, canard, agneau contient :

        11 x 85 g au poulet

        11 x 85 g au bœuf

        11 x 85 g au canard

        11 x 85 g à l’agneau

and Timy hated the type called « au canard ».

Since my previous comment, I opened my eyes and I saw my mistake.

Actually, Timy used to dislike duck-flavored wet food.

Gribouille doesn’t think wet food is something he can eat. But the water from a can of chickpeas is really good (full of protein, by the way).

As in, why wasn’t he eating much? We don’t know. He’s eating much better now that he’s on wet food. ☺️

Oh so he was just being a fussy eater then. Thankfully, I thought he was unwell.

We thought he was, too. Turns out he was lying.

Trust me, he’s not a sweetheart. He pretends to be, but he’s not.

Ramses has, of late, become ravenous. So I upped him to 4 cans of wet food a day but that wasn’t enough and I, too, saw him getting a bit thin. So he gets a helping of chicken breast at night and this has helped. He gained weight back the first week. Don’t worry Brandon gets a bit, too.

Four cans is probably about right for a normal cat. Catorze is teeny tiny, though. On another note, are your gang excited for Full Moon Beltane?

Louis should have some added enjoyment in his life, and I’m glad he is liking the wet food. Just hope he doesn’t become a little gluttonous.

He is heading for gluttony. We will need to keep an eye on the fat sod!

Millie is super thin now (16 years old) and super pernickety about food…I went into the MaxiZoo big store yesterday and got one of every “Senior” “particular” “sensible” (French meaning.) “appetite diminished” food I could afford – some, at 5€ a can were out of our price range. Imagine if she decided they were the only ones for her! – and we are trying each one and ticking off the success stories. We shall see what occurs. So far two have been met with gobbling down.

My friend once asked me how you could get sensible cat food, and I told her it was a French brand!
