Je crie, donc je suis

Some time ago, Louis Catorze stopped coming up to bed with me. I simply assumed that he’d found a more fun thing to do at night – you know, harassing foxes, summoning demons, that kind of thing. So, now, when Cat Daddy comes up to bed long after I’ve gone to sleep, he brings Catorze up with him – if he can find him, that is.

Most of the time I sleep through this. However, occasionally I’m semi-aware of my red lamp being switched off and a miniature cat being dumped onto my bed.

And Catorze, once on my bed, often stays there all night, and is next to me when I wake up in the morning. I hope that this continues throughout the winter, because nothing comforts me more than knowing he’s there. (Mainly because I know he’s not up to mischief elsewhere in the neighbourhood.)

He looks rather content there. (I hadn’t realized how fluffy his tail is.)

His tail is really weird. It’s kind of segmented, like a crocodile’s tail!

He does look extremely puffy in this photo, almost as if the demonic red light has sent a charge through his fur.

His winter coat, and the fact that he goes out in the rain all the time, make him very plushy.

Hmmm…. All logical suppositions, but I still think he’s drawing energy from the red light.

Who knows where he gets his energy? Certainly not from anywhere good!

Thank you. Love your story tonight and I so understand how you feel about having your cat with you at night.

That’s nice of Cat Daddy to bring Louis near you, isn’t it? In doing so, he looks like a devoted knight 😺 .

I think he does it mainly so that Catorze isn’t bothering him! 🤣🤣🤣

Is there a reason for the red lamp? Maybe Louis doesn’t like it?

The red lamp is supposed to be relaxing for mind and body, counteracting all the blue light from screens. He loved it when I first got it and it even seemed to calm him down, which is a rare thing.

That’s interesting. Although I can see it counteracting blue light, red is actually an invigorating color.

I never thought I’d be able to sleep with a light on, but I do!

I also love it when Rosie is on the bed with me, except when she’s on top of me and I really need to move and I don’t want to bother her but I really need to move… Or when it’s not cold and she is so big I feel like I have a 5-ton heating blanket on top of my and I start sweating…

Rosie’s size is something that fascinates me! I remember you saying she was huge and thinking, “I really need to see this!” With a random household item for scale, of course.

I was cat-sitting our neighbor’s cat and felt bad when I couldn’t get her to come in at night, especially since I knew it would be cold. Once I got her inside, I felt bad about keeping her in, so I would let her back out during the day. By the way, I also have a red light next to my bed.

Aww! Was she one of those semi-feral cats?

She is not semi feral but she is unfriendly to people until she gets to know you then she is nice for a minute before she whacks you.

Lnowing they are safe inside is one good point = the extra warmth is a plus as well.

Well, he’s so tiny that there’s not much extra warmth with him!
