Cat Daddy and I are still reeling from the butchery that took place during our absence. To add insult to injury, far from being contrite, Louis Catorze didn’t show his face for a good hour or two after our return. We even wondered whether the chat-sitteur had taken him with her, but then we realised how silly that was because why on earth would she want to? Why would ANYONE want to?

We searched the house and garden for him and failed to find him. We did, however, find another dead mouse.

Meanwhile, if you’re stuck for what to wear in the transition period that is late summer to early autumn, why not stick with your usual black and accessorise with a contrasting cobweb earring?

Each piece is individually foraged by the wearer, so no two look exactly alike. Here is this season’s subtle but classy concept piece, modelled by Catorze:

Coco Chanel would be proud.
It’s just as attractive from a distance.

The mice start coming in this time of year. Louis is using the webbing as a sort of clever feline camouflage. Just a touch here and there, and the mice will never see him.

    Great pictures once again.
Timon is accustomed to coming back with such accessories too.

Yes, cat sitters can contribute to cattitude when we return! Mine is used to instant gratification – “Greenies on demand”, for example. When I was in hospital, a friend came over once a day to feed him, put water in his fountain, maybe play a little with him. She’d put wet food straight from the can, on a paper plate.

Andy is used to me adding a bit of water to make the wet food a bit easier to lap up. I use small plates I have to wash because they don’t slip around while he eats. I also zap the food in the microwave for a short time to take the chill off food that’s been refrigerated. I put food out several times a day in small amounts he will finish.

I’m surprised he survived the sitter!

There is the occasional cobweb decoration. Sometimes it’s studded with a dead leaf or bug.

Oh yes, the bugs! Catorze has worn dead spiders as whisker jewellery before.

Oh the cobwebs fashion show is on. 😮 I don’t miss that. I was always afraid that the maker of the web had caught a ride on my cat when he came back with such an ornament… And well, the idea of a creepy crawler lurking in the fur of my cat was not one I relished.

Sa Maj has often come in with hitchhikers. He had a dead spider stuck in his whiskers once. 🤢
