I hhave the beginnings of a devoted cat!! Because Halo’s name ends the same as Merlot’s I’ve gradually given her a couple of different names Lolo and now Lo Lo Lo. Lo Lola and she responds straightaway to any of the above! I’ve never had a furbaby, no matter how devoted they appear, that actually listens to me and comes running to see what I have to say! In just over 4 months she has transformed from a skinny underfed underdeveloped rescue to a fat cat, loose swinging belly, screaming like I’ve never heard in my life about some things I still don’t understand and purring love bug. Merlot has actually suddenly gone almost stone deaf bless him, he doesn’t hear other dog barks, the clankomg noise of the heavy metal gate onto the farm by my allotment, the rattle of. his lead foretelling of an imminent walkies and loud music and my singing so he happily sits beside me while I practice. He also very frustratingly for the cat has become immune to her whereabouts and happyily walks over her because he can’t hear the swearing and hissing!! She still enjoys sniffing his little face while he is deeply asleep so I think she loves her brother too and if she’s out with us in Merlot’s pushchair if another dog starts barking at Merlot and of course Merlot can’t hear it, she raises her back into an epic mohecan style and watchds the other dog with a very threatening eye!

I will try, she doesn’t do it in the same room as me, so I have to be very quick to grab my phone to record it, also there’s no warning when or why the loud stuff happens, sometimes if I call out ‘what’s wrong?’ we can have a conversation but she has to be in a heightened state of neediness and of course generally she has everything her heart desires! Also if I make a movement to get closer to film the actual scary volume she hears my movement and stops the racket and comes running for some love, so don’t hold your breath, you can imagine I’ve been trying to do this many many times in the 4 months she’s been in our lives ♥️🐈⬛❤️

it’s gross, her litter tray is in my bathroom and I have a door to it in my bedroom, living in a flat I don’t want it a there else, it was something I’d not factored in to my desperate need for my own cat after 28 years of pining for a cat and house sitting for my 3 daughter’s cats over the years, but of course the essential detail is ‘hour sitting’ so litter trays were an appropriate distance from me! I’ve gone through many types of cat litter already with Halo trying to find one that works and Halo has to have the flap tied open because she isn’t capable of getting out of the litter tray if it closes on her!
