If a tree falls in a forest and nobody is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

Similarly, if Orijen is placed in a cat’s bowl and he is not around to witness the serving, does the food even exist? Having given this question the lengthy consideration that it deserves, Louis Catorze says NON.

I know that he was hungry, because he was creepy-staring long before I took this photo. I dutifully went to the kitchen and refilled his bowl. But, because the silly sod didn’t follow me and watch as I did it, he doesn’t know his bowl is full. And I’m not getting up again just to lead him – or, worse, CARRY HIM – to his feeding station just to say, “Voilà!”

So it seems as if we are stuck here for a while until someone blinks first. Which one of us will it be?

Please make it stop.

Wow – that IS a quandry. Depends on how soon you have to go back to the kitchen for something.

He and I are still sitting here. We’ve not budged.

Mais oui! Darth Vader is exactly the same. I will find myself explaining to him at length that there is kibble in his bowl, only to pick him up and deposit him in front of said bowl. Is he grateful? Mais non.

Oh dear. It seems that I am doomed to give in and carry him there at some point …

I never play this game. I carry Timon to his bowl. While doing this, I try to teach him to be less stupid and more attentive.

Delivery service is part of the package. You don’t expect him to “walk” to this fine restaurant?

Rosie la pépette is still too scared to be with me in the kitchen, so I have to leave the kitchen before she goes there to inspect her bowl and hope something’s in it. I can’t carry my cats anyway, so they quickly learn to be independent, otherwise they’d starve if they played that little game with me 😉

Aww, Rosie! She’s getting there, albeit at her own pace. And I agree that doing it all for them just encourages dependence and laziness. Le Roi still screams at the door instead of using the cat flap because, at some stage, some sucker (not me) probably did it for him one time.

I make a lot of noise opening Chris’s kibble container so he knows what I am doing.

I didn’t make that much notice on this occasion, on the basis that HE REQUESTED IT. I think it’s fair to assume that if someone requests it, they should expect it to come, non?

My son is the keeper of the kibble for Snoops and Kommando, but they only eat wet food if I put it down. (I don’t think they trust him because of all the legumes he serves us. 🙂 )

What if he put on a disguise and then served the wet food? 🤣🤣🤣

Hmmm. I think he’d rather just have me do it 🙂
